The idea for the site originally came up from fan discussion boards.  You've probably seen the posts - rank your favorite songs and albums in order of preference.  Everyone posts their run-down of favorites and then someone tallies the results up at the end.  Maybe a year later it's done all over again.

Wouldn't it be great if there were a site with ranking polls which did all this?  We couldn't find one.

We also thought about the times when we'd like to download some tracks of such and such an artist we'd heard of, or even buy one of their CDs.  But where to start?  Sometimes the artist has such a large catalog it's impossible to work out which album to get first.  We thought it would be great if there were a site which ranked all the albums and album tracks.  But we couldn't find one.

Thus the idea for this site was born.  It took a while to get it off the ground but we've finally got it up and running.
