We've used 6 sources of top
albums lists to compile this ultimate greatest albums of the 70s
list. We took the rankings from each list, assigned a
score for each rank, and then compiled this new list.

These results were
compiled from the following sources:
* The Rolling Stone
listing only gives the best 33 albums of the 70s which are
unranked. We gave each album 10 points.
** The Rank Apple top 20
albums from the 1970s were taken from our Ultimate Greatest Albums
of All Time list.
Note: London
Calling by The Clash appears on both the 70s and 80s lists because
it was released in December, 1979 in the U.K., and in January, 1980
in the U.S. Thus, some ranking polls consider the album to be
a 70s album and others an 80s album.
